What is a KE Duplicate Bill?
A KE duplicate bill is an official digital copy of your original K-Electric monthly electricity invoice. It is generated and maintained by K-Electric's billing system, so units consumed, energy charge, Fuel Price Adjustment (FPA), Quarterly Tariff Adjustment (QTA), taxes, due date and payment reference are identical to the printed bill delivered to your address. A duplicate bill is the accepted replacement when your original is lost, damaged, delayed in delivery, or needed in digital form for online payment and record keeping.
K-Electric serves more than 3.4 million consumers across Karachi, Hub, Dhabeji and Gharo. With such a large network, missing or delayed bills are a daily occurrence. KE Duplicate Bill exists to make retrieval of your real bill effortless — without redirecting you to a fragile official URL that often returns an invalid page.
Why use KE Duplicate Bill over the official portal?
- Stable URL. Our endpoint works even when the official KE portal redirects to an invalid URL or expires sessions.
- On-page PDF preview. The bill renders inside this site — no separate tab, no broken iframe.
- Automatic month fallback. We scan the last 8 billing cycles and return the most recent valid PDF for your account.
- Privacy first. Your account number is processed in memory only — never logged, never stored, never shared.
- Editorial guides. Plain-language explanations of every line item, tax and adjustment on your KE bill.
Where to find your K-Electric account number
Your account number is a permanent 13-digit identifier assigned to your meter connection. It is printed at the top-left of every K-Electric bill, immediately above the consumer name and address. The number almost always begins with 04. If you cannot locate any previous bill, visit your nearest KE Customer Care Centre with your CNIC or call the KE helpline at 118.
Every charge on your KE bill, explained
| Line item | What it means |
|---|---|
| Energy charge (per unit) | Cost per kWh based on your tariff slab (1-100, 101-200, 201-300, 301-700, 700+). |
| Fixed charges | A flat monthly amount applicable to commercial and industrial connections. |
| Fuel Price Adjustment (FPA) | Monthly adjustment for the actual cost of fuel used to generate electricity. |
| Quarterly Tariff Adjustment (QTA) | Tariff true-up notified by NEPRA every three months. |
| Electricity Duty (ED) | Provincial duty (1.5%) levied by the Government of Sindh. |
| GST | 17% sales tax on electricity charges as per FBR. |
| Income Tax | Withheld for non-filers per Income Tax Ordinance (varies by bill amount). |
| TV fee | Monthly PTV license fee collected on behalf of Pakistan Television. |
| Meter rent | Nominal monthly rent for use of K-Electric's metering equipment. |
| Late Payment Surcharge | Additional amount payable if you pay after the due date (typically 10%). |
Quick answers for KE bill search
Short, direct answers designed for people and AI search engines.
Can I see my KE bill on this website?
Yes. Enter your KE account or reference number and the PDF bill appears in an on-page viewer with download and print controls.
What number do I need to enter?
Use the 13-digit account number printed at the top of any older K-Electric bill. Numbers usually begin with 04.
Why is my KE bill not showing?
The account number may be mistyped, the latest billing cycle may not be issued yet, or the connection may require support from KE customer care (helpline 118).
Is this a payment portal?
No. KE Duplicate Bill retrieves and explains your bill. Pay using bank apps, ATMs, JazzCash, EasyPaisa, 1Link or authorised K-Electric channels.
Is the duplicate bill official?
Yes — it is the same byte-for-byte PDF that K-Electric generates and serves through its own billing system. Banks accept it for payment.
Does it cost anything?
No. The service is 100% free, requires no signup, and does not display ads on the bill page.
How the K-Electric billing cycle works
K-Electric reads each meter on a fixed day every month — your reading date is printed on the bill. The bill is generated within 24–48 hours of that reading, dispatched to your registered address, and uploaded to K-Electric's billing infrastructure where this website pulls it from. The due date is typically 14 days after the bill date. A 10% Late Payment Surcharge is added the day after. Two consecutive unpaid cycles trigger a written disconnection notice; supply is cut on the seventh day after the notice unless the full amount is cleared.
Every way to pay your KE bill — compared
| Channel | Posting time | Charges | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mobile banking (HBL, UBL, Meezan, MCB, Allied, BAFL...) | Instant – 2 hours | Free | Most consumers — fastest, paperless, 24/7. |
| JazzCash / EasyPaisa wallet | Instant – 2 hours | Free for users; merchant fee on cash-load | Unbanked consumers; small bills. |
| 1Link member ATM | Same day | Bank ATM fee may apply | Cash payments with proof receipt. |
| KE Customer Care Centre (IBC) | Same day | Free | Disputes, instalments, archived bill copies. |
| Authorised utility-payment counters | Same day | Free | Cash-only walk-in payment. |
| KE Live app | Instant | Free | View, pay, complain — single app. |
| Bank cheque deposit | 1–3 working days | Free | Corporate and commercial accounts. |
Always pay 24–48 hours before the due date — bank posting delays are not accepted as a waiver for the Late Payment Surcharge.
Your rights as a K-Electric consumer
Under NEPRA's Consumer Service Manual every Karachi household and business has specific, enforceable rights. K-Electric is required by law to honour each of them — and you can escalate to NEPRA when they are violated.
- Bill delivery 7+ days before due date. If your bill arrives late or not at all, you may request a written extension without surcharge.
- Written response within 15 days on any registered complaint, with a reference number you can track.
- Itemised breakdown of every charge on your bill upon written request — useful for VAT-registered businesses.
- Independent meter test on demand — fee is refunded if the meter is found faulty.
- Hearing before any detection bill is added to your account. Never pay a detection charge without the inspection report.
- Restoration timeframes with compensation if K-Electric exceeds the prescribed limit for outages and disconnections.
Bill not generated yet? Here is what to do
- Confirm your meter reading date from a previous bill — the new bill appears 24–48 hours later.
- Retry the lookup above the next morning; our backend automatically scans the most recent 8 billing months.
- If still not available 5 days after the reading date, SMS your 13-digit account number to 8119 for status.
- For a manual reissue, email customer.care@ke.com.pk with your account number and CNIC.
- Pay on the estimated amount via 118 IVR to avoid a Late Payment Surcharge — the difference is adjusted next month.
Save up to Rs. 5,000/month — practical bill-reduction playbook
- Switch every bulb to LED. A 9W LED replaces a 60W incandescent — 85% saving on lighting load.
- Stay under 200 units for 6 consecutive months (sanctioned load below 5 kW) to lock in protected-consumer rates. The differential compounds across every future unit.
- Set ACs to 26°C with a ceiling fan. Each 1°C lower draws ~6% more power. The fan makes 26°C feel like 23°C at one-tenth the load.
- Use a geyser timer. Heating water for 30 minutes twice daily saves 60–80% over an always-on geyser.
- Pre-cool, don't over-cool. Run the AC at 5 PM so the room is comfortable when peak hours start at 6:30 PM — then raise the thermostat 1–2°C.
- Schedule heavy appliances after 11 PM — washing machine, dishwasher, iron, EV chargers, water motor.
- Service ACs every season. A clogged filter or low gas charge raises consumption 20–30% with zero added comfort.

KE Net Metering — solar that pays you back
Net metering lets Karachi homes and businesses install a grid-tied solar system, run their loads off solar during the day, and export surplus units back to the K-Electric grid. KE installs a special bi-directional meter; surplus units are credited at the official buy-back rate against your monthly bill. Typical payback is 3–4 years; the system then saves money for 20+ years.
